Do you believe your makeup brush requires a bath? Then continue reading to learn how to clean your makeup brushes.

When we use makeup brushes on a daily basis, they become dirty and can cause breakouts, so we must clean them for hygienic reasons.

Additionally, cleaning your makeup brushes will help your makeup products to apply more evenly.

Dermatologists and makeup artists agree that we should suds up our tools far more frequently to prevent bacteria buildup, which can lead to breakouts.

To prevent product buildup, soak your tools once a week, preferably once a week for foundation and concealer brushes.

Brushes used in the vicinity of the eyes should be cleaned at least twice a month.

Soaping your makeup brushes on a regular basis can help to extend the life of the bristles and improve product application.

Water and a gentle soap or brush cleanser are the best and most thorough ways to clean your tools.

If you don’t want to buy a cleanser specifically for your brushes, your favourite face wash may suffice. Because your brushes and facewash are both used on your face.

Steps to clean your brush

  1. Using lukewarm water, wet the bristles.
  2. Put a drop of your preferred cleanser into the palm of your clean hand.
  3. Massage the bristle tips in your palm gently.
  4. Thoroughly rinse the bristles.
  5. Using a clean towel, squeeze out any excess moisture.
  6. Return the brush head to its original shape.
  7. Allow the brush to dry with its bristles dangling off the edge of a counter, allowing it to dry in the proper shape.
  8. Never dry your brushes on a towel because the bristles can become mildewy.
