What it means for you
PMEGP is still one of the few schemes that gives a capital subsidy, not just a loan, for a new manufacturing or service unit. Women applicants count as a special category. They contribute less of their own money and get a higher subsidy rate than general-category applicants. The scheme is run by KVIC, and applications go through the PMEGP portal, which moved to pmegp.msme.gov.in this year. Approval depends on a bank sanctioning your loan, so a solid project report matters.
